As someone deeply committed to the well-being of every Nevadan, I believe that our healthcare system needs significant improvements. Too often, bureaucracy and red tape stand between patients and the care they need. Our doctors, nurses, and medical researchers are here to help people, but they’re often hindered by unnecessary government restrictions that drive up costs and limit access to care. It’s time we changed that.
Below I’ll list out a few items I will personally work to deliver once elected to represent Assembly District 34, that will provide better outcomes for all Nevadans when in comes to healthcare.
Increase Transparency in Drug Pricing
I am passionate about ensuring that every Nevadan has access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. To do this, we must take on the government regulations that inflate healthcare costs and make coverage unaffordable for many. By increasing transparency in drug pricing, we can better address the skyrocketing costs of prescription medications that burden so many families.
Reduce Medical Professional Shortages
Recruiting and retaining healthcare professionals is another critical issue. We need more doctors and specialists in Nevada, and one way to achieve this is by joining the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). This will help close the gap in our nursing shortage and ensure that patients get the care they need when they need it. Additionally, I believe in strengthening our educational pipeline to train the next generation of healthcare providers right here in Nevada, encouraging them to stay and build their careers in our great state.
Better Insurance Options and Coverage
We must also expand access to affordable insurance options by fostering a competitive and open private marketplace. This will give Nevadans more choices and reduce costs for everyone. Mental health services are equally important, and I fully support increasing access to mental health facilities and services across the state.
In addition, I stand firmly against laws that restrict healthcare providers from entering new markets. By repealing these Certificate of Need laws, we can improve healthcare accessibility and affordability for all Nevadans.
With Your Help, We Can Get It Done
I believe in championing policy that improves the lives of ALL Nevadans. Let’s tackle this together, bringing real solutions to our community in Carson City. To help me make it happen, support my campaign by making a contribution or volunteering today.
