Liberties and Rights

I believe that every human being is born with natural rights and liberties, including property rights, rights to bear arms, rights to bodily autonomy, rights to self ownership, rights to speech, rights to who we choose to have relationships with, among others. I believe the government has no business dictating, legislating, or infringing on any of these rights because they’re not given to us by the government…we were born with them.

Reproductive Rights

I am firm on a woman’s right to choose and will protect reproductive rights and access to contraceptives at every turn. Government and politicians have no business dictating what a woman can or cannot do with her body.

LGBTQ Rights

Who we choose to have relationships with or marry is no business of the government. I will block any legislation that makes it harder for our LGBTQ Nevadans to live their lives freely. I believe consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices, personal relationships and marry whomever they want regardless of sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity.

2nd Amendment Rights

I believe that firearms protect the American people from tyranny, and it is within their natural born rights to carry them, without permit. I will work to remove any barriers to concealed carry and veto any bill that restricts firearm ownership for Nevadans. It takes nearly a year for our government to process a simple concealed carry license in Nevada, in addition to an 8 hour mandatory class and nearly $300 in fees. NONE of that government bureaucracy makes our cities safer. Law abiding citizens carrying makes our cities safer, period.

Personal Liberties

Your body is yours and what you choose to do with it is your right. There is no in-between or gray areas, choice is choice. And this includes abortion AND vaccinations. I support bodily autonomy and personal choice 100% of the time. I believe individuals own their bodies and have rights over them that other individuals, groups, and governments may not violate. I believe individuals have the freedom and responsibility to decide what they knowingly and voluntarily consume, and what risks they accept to their own health, finances, safety, or life.

Property Rights

Eminent domain, civil asset forfeiture, governmental limits on profits, governmental production mandates, and governmental controls on prices of goods and services (including wages, rents, and interest) are infringements on natural property rights. I will block any legislation that seeks to further governmental encroachment on Nevadan’s property rights.

Conclusion

Let me be clear that I believe natural rights belong to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, country of origin, or socioeconomic status. I’m not one of those “rights and liberties for me, but not for thee” people. I’ll fight for the rights of members of the LGBTQ community as much as I will for a firearms group. I’ll fight against discrimination and racial inequality as much as I’ll fight for a person’s right to practice religion. And every step of the way I’ll work to keep government out of all it.
