Dear family, friends, and supporters.
While the ultimate goal of winning this race was not achieved, there WERE several other wins I’d like to highlight as this campaign has come to a close.
What we accomplished:
• Secured ballot access for the Libertarian Party, meaning millions of Nevada voters will have more CHOICE in the next election.
• Received the most votes for a Libertarian candidate for Governor in Nevada’s history
• Third highest total votes for a non-democrat/non-republican Governor candidate in state history
We held events and made appearances in twelve counties having wonderful conversations with communities. We launched ad campaigns that reached millions and had volunteer teams canvassing all over the state.
In short, we built a real campaign with no name-recognition, no major funding, no endorsements, and no SuperPAC backing. I wasn’t invited to the one debate that was held and was completely ignored by nearly every single news media company in the state. It truly was a grassroots campaign, ran honestly and with integrity.
I’m so proud of what we accomplished and I’m so incredibly grateful for everyone who supported this campaign. I received notes from people all over the state that were kind, hopeful, and inspiring. This is something that I heard once that resonated with me:
“The way of the faithful is committing to pay the price even if the cost cannot be known and trusting in the end it will be worth it.”
It takes someone with character and backbone to stand up to the broken duopoly system in the face of the establishment. Not everyone has the principle to do it. It’s not glamorous and it’s certainly not popular, but I applaud those willing to take a stand and I encourage others to seriously think about doing the same. It’s the right thing to do for our children, for our families, and for our neighbors.
Take a stand. Be the change you want to see in this world, and we will eventually see that change.
I am not going anywhere. I will be running again and have some exciting things I’m launching in the coming weeks/months. It was an honor to stand alongside you this year, thank you.
